How to use Agents with Microsoft Copilot (Teams, Web, Mobile, and Windows App)

Learn how to add Copilot agents step-by-step across all Microsoft Copilot platforms.

There are two easy ways to add a Copilot agent, and these methods work across Teams, the web version, the mobile apps, and the Windows Copilot app:
The following two methods work consistently across all Copilot interfaces

Method 1 — Add an Agent from the Agents Menu

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Select Copilot from the left menu
  3. Select Copilot from the left menu.
  4. On the Copilot page, click the menu/icon on the top left side.
  5. Browse or search for the agent you want.
  6. Select the agent you want to add.
  7. Once selected, the agent name will be appear at the top.

This means:

You are now talking directly to the agent.
To return to the regular Copilot chat, click on New Chat.

Method 2 — Add an Agent from chat interface

  1. Open Teams → Copilot.

In the search box, Click inside the message box.
You will see:

  • “+”
  • Tools

Now click on Tools.

      2. Select Explore more agents or choose the agent shown in the quick list.
      3.A list of agents will appear.

     4.Select the agent.
     5.It will be added automatically to your Copilot view

Important

When the agent name appears inside the message box, you are no longer talking to general Copilot.
You are now talking directly to that specific Copilot agent.
If you want to switch back to the main Copilot chat, simply click the ‘x’ beside the agent’s name in the search bar.
